Coach Joey
Joey Beltran, born in Oceanside and raised in Carlsbad, California, has been passionate about combat sports from a young age. He began boxing at just 10 years old and transitioned to wrestling at 14, earning three varsity letters at Carlsbad High School, where he also played football.
After years of dedicated training, Joey made his professional MMA debut at 24. His journey took him to the UFC, where he fought in two weight classes across 10 bouts. He then moved to Bellator, where he competed for three years, racking up victories in three different weight classes and challenging for the Light Heavyweight World Title.
I
n 2019, Joey’s career reached new heights when he became the Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship (BKFC) Heavyweight World Champion. He successfully defended his title twice before retiring from active competition in 2022. Throughout his entire career, Joey also worked as a coach, sharing his expertise and passion for the sport with others.
Now, as a coach at Oceanside Athletic Club, Joey brings years of world-class experience to his training. Whether you’re just starting out or aiming for your next big goal, Joey's sessions are designed to challenge you while maintaining a safe and fun environment.

Combat Conditioning
Coach Joey Beltran’s Combat Conditioning Boxing class is a high-intensity workout designed to take your boxing skills and fitness to the next level. This class combines the fundamentals of boxing—such as footwork, punches, defense, and head movement—with dynamic conditioning drills to improve your endurance, strength, speed, and agility.
Each session will challenge you with a mix of bag work, shadowboxing, partner drills, and high-energy conditioning exercises, designed to build real-world boxing skills while enhancing your overall fitness. Whether you’re training for fitness, self-defense, or competition, you’ll develop power, speed, and precision in a supportive environment. Suitable for all skill levels, this class provides a tough but rewarding workout that will keep you on your toes!
